Instructions

  1. Making the Broth

Let's start by making the flavorful broth for our cocktail de camaron:

    • In a large pot, add 10 cups of water, 3 celery sticks, 1 roma tomato, half of an onion, 3 garlic cloves, 1 bay leaf, 2 teaspoons of shrimp bullan, and salt.
    • Bring the pot to a boil and let it boil for 10 minutes.
    • After 10 minutes, add the shells from the raw shrimp and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
    • Prepare a bowl with ice and water to cool down the cooked shrimp.
    • Remove everything from the pot and add 4 lbs of raw shrimp.
    • Cook the shrimp for a couple of minutes.
    • Once cooked, transfer the shrimp to the bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  2. Putting It All Together

Now that we have our flavorful shrimp broth and cooked shrimp, it's time to assemble the cocktail de camaron:

    • In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of Clamato, 3 cups of shrimp broth, and 1/2 cup of lime juice.
    • Add 10 drops of Tabasco and a couple of Hugo Magi.
    • Mix well and add 1 cup of ketchup.
    • Stir again to incorporate the ketchup.
    • Next, dice 2 cucumbers, 3 roma tomatoes, and half of a purple onion.
    • Add the diced vegetables to the bowl.
    • For some heat, include 1 Chile Sano and 1 avano. Adjust the spiciness according to your preference.
    • Season with black pepper and salt.
    • Mix everything together, taste, and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  3. Chilling and Serving

Now that our cocktail de camaron is ready, it's time to chill it and get ready to serve:

    • Add the cooked shrimp to the mixture and gently stir to combine.
    • Place the bowl in the refrigerator and allow it to chill for at least 30 minutes.
    • After 30 minutes, take out the cocktail de camaron and get ready to enjoy!
    • Garnish with additional cooked shrimp and sliced avocados.
    • If desired, top it off with more Tabasco for an extra kick.
    • Don't forget to serve it with some crackers for added crunch
